Aliana Andrade, who was speaking to journalists, made these comments and pointed out that in this municipality there are women who lack self-esteem because they are not
feel its true value.
However, she stressed that others do not play their role in society as they would like because they are not employed, with the majority of women on Brava being domestic servants.
"However, many don't really feel included in society, since they say they are domestic and their work is at home looking after the child and the home, and so we still have a big problem, considering that women in this century still have this way of thinking," she stressed.
The municipality, said the councillor, is working on the issue of gender equality and has played its part, in partnership with other institutions, to value and highlight the importance of this gender in society.
Andrade ended by congratulating all Cape Verdean women and emphasized that women's day is not just today, but every day, as they play a fundamental role in society.
